Ed’s new lectures illustrates, with all archival and original photographs taken by the climbers themselves, the evolution of American climbing, looking at the evolution of clothing, footwear, protection, rope-techniques and ethics, from the earliest days of White Mountain rock climbing, in the 1920s and 30s…. seen through the eyes ( and pictures ) of Robert Underhill, Fritz Wiessner, and Bill House….. through the Golden Years of Yosemite rock climbing, illustrated with the classic photographs of Tom Frost….. to the ” White painter’s pants & Rugby shirt ” era of the 1970s…. even some bare-foot climbing ! Come enjoy this entertaining, educational and fun lecture. Webster will also be signing his new set of climbing and Mt. Everest posters after the show.
